I'm trying to eat my way around the world without leaving London and this week I found Bulgarian food at a coffee shop/mini market in West Hampstead.
The cosy Food Market Teodora, as it is called, is located on Mill Lane Road and sellsBulgarian goodies which ranges from sausages, Bulgarian yoghurt, cheese and jarred pickled cabbage. Much of it was unknown to me, but I'm sure many a Bulgarian expat will love coming here.
On the counter I found savoury pastries which are the size of a small child. I asked what they were and the very friendly shopkeeper explained they were filled with feta and spinach. There was one filled with a hotdog as well.
As I was going out for lunch after my visit to Teodora, I opted for bitesized, Bulgarian biscuits and a cup of coffee, which I enjoyed out front on the terrace.
The cream filled and hazelnut biscuits were yummie and a big hit with my co-workers. As they were with me.
Find more info on Teodora on their website here.
There's a cuisine I don't know a lot about - pastries sound yum!
