Where to Eat in Luang Prabang

The upside of Luang Prabang being so touristy is that the dining options are endless, top notch and incredibly easy on the wallet. You can eat cheaply at a food market or 'splurge' at some of the town's finest restaurants. Here are some of the places I ate at.

The Buddha Park Near Vientiane

Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is not your typical South East Asian city. It's quite sedate and calm. Although the city might not boast as many gems as say Luang Prabang in the north, one of the must see sights that took me there was the Buddha Park near Vientiane.

The Plain of Jars in Phonsavan

One of the things that was on my must-visit list in Laos, was the Plain of Jars in Phonsavan.  This plateau in the Xieng Kouang Province is an elevated plain which is sprinkled with jars that are apparently thousands and thousands of years old.

Legacy of a 'Secret War'

If someone were to ask my what the most memorable bit of my trip was, I'm going to have to say: America. Weird, given that I went to Bangkok and Laos. But the thing that is sticking to me most, is the stuff that happened in Laos during the Vietnam war in the 'Secret War' and is still happening to this day.

Butterfly Park in Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang in Laos is a lovely place to visit, if only it were slightly less touristy. When I was there, I was delighted to find a place called The Butterfly Park in Luang Prabang.
