Indonesian Food at Ayam Happy

Frankly, I'd been eyeing these pop-up guys for a while and last Friday I finally caught them at the Shuffle Festival at Hackney Cemetery Park.

The location was pretty original, I mean who ever has dinner around Victorian tombs and gravestones? FYI, Hackney Cemetery Park is one of the seven historic Victorian cemeteries that are dotted around this city.

The restaurant which was there for a fortnight, was as pop-up as can be. It was a construction of metal poles and wooden planks and there was more seating on top of what looked like a barn. There was a bar in said barn and the food was cooked up at a food stall, which was also serving food to bar visitors.

But we had booked a table for a three course dinner.

Compared to the UK, Holland is pretty well spoiled when it comes to Indonesian food as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. So when I heard about the Indonesian food at Nancy Lam's Enak Enak, I ubered straight to Lavender Hill here in Battersea.

Indonesian Food at Nusa Dua London

I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Indonesian food at Nusa Dua. Now Indonesian food is one cuisine I love and can find plenty of back home in Holland. I really miss it being here in London, so I was really happy to hear that this place had opened up in the West End.

It's not a fancy place by no means, but definitely a restaurant you feel comfortable in from the bat. It's decorated in a simple yet modern style with lots of traditional art that you can actually buy. Beats taking home a doggy bag.
I booked a table with 7 of my Dutch friends for the traditional rice table or rijsttafel as we call it in Dutch/ Indonesian. It's a great way to sample lots of mini portions of various Indonesian dishes. Kind of like tapas, but Asia style.
