Asian Food at Uli

Of all the ethnic restaurants here in London, I seem to most often end up at Asian places. This week I celebrated a friend's birthday with some Malaysian food at Uli in Notting Hill.

The restaurant's owners resurrected this popular eatery in Notting Hill recently after high rents on the All Saints Road forced them to close it down three years ago. And I can see why Notting Hillers were delighted to find their much loved local Asian restaurant reinstated.

Japanese Food at Gyoza Bar

When it comes to dumplings, the Japanese gyoza is my absolute favourite. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard there was a gyoza bar opening in Covent Garden.

Gyoza Bar (yes, that's really what it's called) sort of sits within Murakami, another Japanese restaurant. Which causes some light confusion when you think you're opening a door to the loo but in fact you're almost bumping into someone else's romantic dinner.

Japanese Food at Ten Ten Tei

London has so many ethnic food options, so I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Japanese food at Ten Ten Tei in Soho. I'm afraid that Japanese food doesn't appear at the top of my favourite foods list; I'm not a fan of sushi, or Japanese curries and when I was travelling in Japan I found that they tend to use a lot of sesame oil, which I well, dislike very much. However at Ten Ten Tei I managed to find something to my liking.
