Swedish restaurants are popping up like mushrooms here in London and I am loving it. Last weekend I had Swedish food at KuPP in the Paddington area.
KuPP is located right along the Regent's Canal in a location that is still somewhat residential. Which makes it a lot easier to grab a table at this place. I went there on a Sunday morning and there was just a handful of people there. I picked a table right by the window, overlooking the canal.
While enjoying a much needed latte and a watermelon and mint juice I studied the menu. Well, actually I had studied the menu for about a week already, so it was more a case of making sure that the pancakes I had my eye on, were still available.
And they were.
The Swedish pancakes were served with a glob of sweet sour cream and lingonberry jam and sprinkled with cardamom sugar. I loved them as they were more like the French crepes than those American thick dough balls.
I wish I had room for more of the food I saw on the menu as it all sounded mouthwateringly good. And get this; on the weekend they do a bottomless boozy' brunch. Unlimited knackerbrot and salmon, washed down with unlimited bloody Mary's, guys. What is not to love about that?
Oh wow, those pancakes look and sound amazing! I'm going to have to try them out next time I'm in London!
ReplyDeleteThey were absolutely delish. You will love them for sure.
Deletewoow this place sounds awesome. I am from Norway so I know about the sweedish pancakes which is actually also from Norway. We have the same recipes, but norwegians are most famous for their waffles. I will have to go there when I visit London again. Thank you for sharing x
